Sangram Singh was born on 21 July 1985 in Madina, a small village in Rohtak, Haryana. His father’s name is Umed Singh, a retired R Soldier. His mother’s name is Ramdev who is a duodenum.

Sangram Singh Career

Sangram Singh started his wrestling career in the year 1999. Sangram Singh represented Delhi Police in a wrestling tournament and won the bronze medal. In 2006, Sangram Singh won a gold medal at the John Ritz Big Five International tournament held in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Sangram Singh won many famous awards like the Rajiv Gandhi Award, Youth Association of India and International Bodybuilding (2010), Rajiv Gandhi National Integration Award 2010, and Chhatrapati Shivaji Award for Best Indian Sportsman 2012.

Sangram Singh also won several titles like National Champion (2003), Sher-e-Hind Title (2008), Haryana Kumar Title of Wrestling (2000), and Mr. Haryana Title (2009).

In 2012, Sangram Singh won the title of World’s Best Professional Wrestler by World Wrestling Professionals, South Africa for his style, stamina, and nature of wrestling.

Sangram Singh won the Commonwealth Heavyweight Championship twice (2015 and 2016) in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. For this, the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi congratulated him in Delhi.

Sangram Singh secured his second position for this in 2016 by defeating wrestler Anazi. He has won many other medals in wrestling from the year 2003 to 2017.

Sangram Singh has got his fair share of screen time in sports channels, reality shows, and television series in the Hindi entertainment industry. Sangram Singh participated in many reality shows like ‘Survivor India – The Ultimate Battle’, ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi Season 3’, ‘100% – De Dhana Dhan’, ‘Sachcha Ka Saamna’ etc.
